RRN Presentations at Musqueam

We are doing well in Musqueam with our presentations and also are connecting with Program Administrators of Musqueam, Aboriginal Liaisons for the Vancouver School Board, Native Education Center, Direction Seven, Musqueam Recreation, Elders Center, and the Olympics Staff of Musqueam.

June Presents to Musqueam Program Administrators

The Program Administrators (October 6, 2009) really liked the RRN and many wanted more information. We also did a presentation for Direction Seven. They have an art center here on the Reserve and wanted to look at designs to help them with their art. We went to the Native Education Center and were asked to do presentations for the Jewellery and Tourism classes.

The presentation for the Musqueam Olympic Staff (October 14, 2009) at the Musqueam Band Office went very well. They were impressed with the site and asked questions. One staff member went directly to her grandmother’s sweaters and baskets by just watching the tutorials that Jody presented. Now that the Olympic Staff members know what the RRN is about, they want to invite us to their venues to interact with the public. The tutorials are eye catching and the staff thought they would not need extra classes to learn the RRN if they just watched the videos.

Jody relaxes after a presentation

On October 15, 2009, Jody and I set up the RRN Booth at the Musqueam 51st Hall for a conference of Aboriginal Law students from all over Canada. Many were interested in the site. There were about 50 Aboriginal law students from across Canada. They said that this would help them with the Native Studies they have to take.

I am so happy with the results of the presentations. Thanks for reading and I will keep you updated on our presentations and what we are up to.
